This webinar will include an overview of the Department of Cannabis Control. Topics will include a brief history on why and how the department was formed in 2018. The departments within the DCC, what is investigated by the DCC, and how they assist county and local agencies. There will also be discussion on licensing.

The webinar will be lead by Sgt. Michael Tucker and Cmdr. Wilson Linares.

Sgt. Tucker is an Air Force veteran (Military Police K9) and has 19 years of civilian law enforcement experience. He has worked for the US Capitol Police and AMTRAK as well as local law enforcement. He joined the California Department of Consumer Affairs / Cannabis Enforcement Unit in July 2019 and is currently a Sergeant for Orange and San Diego County.


Cmdr. Linares previously worked for LAPD where he worked patrol, the PC290 unit registering and tracking offenders, Cyber Crime Unit at the divisional level, Crime Analyst at the bureau level, and COMPSTAT at the bureau level. He is currently the Commander assigned to the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area for the Department of Cannabis Control for the State of California.
