Synopsis:
This presentation will focus on the creation of crime analysis products, to include tactical bulletins, intelligence bulletins, crime maps, charts, and statistical products. The presentation will provide examples of analytical products in each of the categories included in the CCIAA Analytical Product Contest with the goal of providing a foundation to creating products analysts feel confident in providing to patrol, detectives, and command staff. Additionally this presentation will encourage analysts to submit their products to the Analytical Product Contest for recognition amongst their peers.
Biography:
Dana Boss is a Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst who began her law enforcement career in 2005. Dana began working for the Reedley Police Department as a Community Service Officer and has held positions in records, property and evidence, patrol CSO and from 2012-2022 crime analysis. In November 2022, she took a position as a Crime Analysis Technician with the Visalia Police Department. She also volunteers as the Crime Analysis Unit Supervisor with the Cold Case Foundation. She has served as the President of the CVCIAA and CCIAA, currently holding the position of Webmaster with the CCIAA.
